If you haven’t heard of the HTC Thunderbolt, then you must be living under a rock, or have a loathing for Verizon. The Thunderbolt is an amazingly fast new Android smart phone that is the guinea pig for Verizon new 4G LTE network. Looking at all the reviews, one might end up enticed to jump their current network’s ship and switch to Verizon. But before one does, contemplate on whether the HTC Thunderbolt is really worth it.
Only less than 200 cities nationwide are capable and take advantage of the LTE service. It is understood that most areas of America is not yet covered by the said service. If you are not a Verizon subscriber or if you travel cities to cities a lot, we suggest that you hold off in purchasing the HTC Thunderbolt until the majority, or atleast 75% of the country is LTE capable.
Do you use your phone heavily? HTC Thunderbolt reportedly has a negative feedback regarding battery life. However, this is only given if you will tend to use the 4G all the time. With the Thunderbolt, you will probably charge twice in a day, with a reported 4 hour life with 4G. With the 4G disabled and some tweaks on your phone’s settings is done, the battery life has a good run.
Ever wanted an iPhone but for some reasons, can’t? The Thunderbolt is the next best thing. It is very comparable to Apple’s device and has once been called as the possible iPhone killer. While this hasn’t been really proven, users can almost get the same functionality that the iPhone offers with their HTC Thunderbolt.
The Thunderbolt hasn’t been really out in the market too long for it to be tested in terms of durability and staying power. We are hoping that the 4G LTE network lives up to its potential, as more and more phones are in the works to take advantage of the service. Most of all, we hope that every network adapts the same service, so that these phones have the chance to branch out and dominate.
